The State Treasury is an agency operating under the Ministry of Finance (VM). We are in charge of government loans and debt and cash management and we manage central government accounting and accident compensation payments to government employees. We disburse compensation payments to citizens for military injuries and criminal damage, and administer loans, interest subsidies and parliamentary loan guarantees granted from government funds. We develop and produce internal corporate services for central government finances and personnel administration. The agency was founded in 1876. It employs approximately 270 people.
The problem statement
The State Treasury wanted help to understand what options they had short and long term to digitize their way of workign with the selected applications the treasury had. Management had a clear vision, which was to help ease their employees way of working by digitalizing many processes and channels.
Our Approach
To understand where The State Treasury was and what were the most hardest painpoints that all State Treasury employees had, we approached the challenege with conducting interviews and workshops with all the various departments within the Treasury.
We also analyzed what were the capabilities of the existing IT applications and what were the respective development road maps of each application to have a complete 360 picture of what is coming just around the corner and what kind of gaps there were between the IT capabilities and vision.
The Result
Within 6 weeks we had conducted all relevant workshops and interviews. We delivered a digital strategy and suggestions for a development road map that together with the Treasury’s management we helped push forward.
